What are veneers?

What the procedure involves
The fitting of these veneers is a relatively quick process, here’s a brief outline of what you can generally expect.
Your dentist will usually inspect the area and then match up the colour of your surrounding teeth with a colour of cap that will match and blend in. Then a mould will be taken of the tooth being covered, a small amount of enamel will be removed and in this area a porcelain cap will be inserted. The cap is fitted with a dental adhesive and blasted with a special light to cure it and bond it to your tooth.
The entire thing shouldn’t take too long, although if you’re having more veneers fitted at the same time you could be sat in our practice for a little longer.
Will it hurt?

For veneers you can expect a small amount of discomfort, but this is usually when the dentist is removing a layer of enamel to fit the cap in as this can make the tooth a little sensitive for a while.
