Building on a healthy smile

Now that you’ve got the thumbs up from the dentist in Richmond with regard to your oral health, you can start to think about ways to enhance the aesthetics of your smile.

At Sheen Dental, we have a great range of cosmetic dentistry treatments that will upgrade your smile to today’s exacting standards.

Upgrade the colour of your smile

Teeth whitening is the world’s most popular cosmetic dentistry treatment. With our dentist in Richmond, you can access 2 different ways to get your teeth whitened. You can either have the treatment carried out at the clinic, which takes around an hour, or you can get yourself a take-home kit, and whiten your teeth over a period of about 2 weeks. In-clinic whitening is quicker because dental professionals can use more concentrated whitening gels than we can give you to use at home. The other main difference is that you get gel trays to put the gel in at home, whereas in the clinic, we paint the gel directly onto the teeth. The advantage of home-whitening with trays is that you can easily top up your treatment by buying more gel from us.

Upgrade the colour of your fillings

White fillings use a material called composite resin to fill cavities created by tooth decay. This is a mixture of plastic and glass. White fillings are the same colour as your teeth and can also be shaped to recreate the lost chewing surfaces of your teeth. In shape and colour, these fillings blend in seamlessly with the rest of your teeth, unlike amalgam fillings, which are dark grey. The latest white filling material is very robust, creating longer-lasting, strong fillings that bond with the tooth so that decay-causing bacteria cannot get in around the edges to create more decay underneath. You can get amalgam fillings replaced with composite resin here at the dentist in Richmond.

Upgrade the surface of your teeth

Veneers are tiny porcelain sheaths that are put onto the fronts of your teeth to give them a new surface. They are shaped and coloured to blend in with the rest of your teeth.
