What can my dentist do?

Here at Sheen Dental, we offer a wide range of dental treatments, from simple procedures that we do every day, to the more long-term surgical procedures. We will be here to help you every step of the way, whatever treatment you may need. Here we will explore some of these different dental procedures, varying from different categories, to give you an idea of what some of them are.

Teeth whitening

If your teeth are stained, and they are not looking bright and clean with your usual brushing and flossing routine, then teeth whitening could be for you. This works by our dentist Richmond examining your teeth and taking images and scans of them in order to create a custom tray that fits perfectly over your teeth. A bleaching gel is then put into this tray and left to sit on your teeth. You will see visible results very quickly with this treatment. You can also do this from your own home, which benefits our more busy patients.

Root canal

When the centre of your tooth is decayed, it is important to acknowledge this and seek help as soon as possible. If you do not treat a decayed/infected tooth, then this can lead to you needing to have it removed. A root canal treatment is a great way to save a decaying tooth and lessen the risk of needing a removal. Your dentist Richmond will do their absolute best to remove all of the bacteria from the hard-to-reach areas of the tooth. This is not a very painful treatment, and can help to preserve your natural tooth.

Emergency dentist

If you ever have severe pain in your teeth and mouth, then this could mean you need an emergency dental appointment. Bleeding that isn’t stopping is also a major reason for an emergency appointment. You can call us up and we will get you an appointment as soon as possible. We will do all we can at that time to relieve your pain and try and find out what the issue is so we can create the right treatment plan for you.

Tooth extraction

There are many reasons as to why you may need to have your tooth removed. One of the main ones is tooth decay, as if this is ignored then the tooth will just gather more and more bacteria as time goes on. Progressive tooth decay can also cause bad toothache, which is why it is important to always treat these things early, to preserve the life of your natural teeth. But if you do need an extraction, we will make you feel as comfortable as possible during the whole process.

If your teeth are crooked or misaligned, and you’re not happy with the way they look, you will be given a custom set of aligners that will gently move your teeth into a better position over time. The trays are also made out of a lightweight, clear plastic meaning that they are pretty comfortable to wear too. The end result will come within 9-12 months, depending on your needs. You will only need to visit your dentist Richmond every 6-8 weeks for progress checks, so it makes things easier if you have a busier schedule.
