At Sheen Dental, we provide a range of cosmetic dentistry solutions, which are specifically designed to improve the overall aesthetics of a patient's teeth. One such treatment we provide here at Sheen Dental, is the installation of Invisalign retainers and discreet dental aligners. These are a new form of discreet orthodontics which negate the need for components such as a fused brackets and metal wires which are common throughout conventional orthodontics, and are often considered to produce a negative impact on a patient's outward appearance. Instead patients are issued with a removable, plastic retainer. This retainer is constructed from a patented plastic known as Smarttrack, which is used for its uniquely durable, yet malleable consistency. When it is worn, the retainer uses specifically placed pressure points within it to gradually push a patient's teeth back into their correct alignment. Every installation of Invisalign is entirely unique as the Smarttrack retainer is moulded around the specific contours of each patient’s teeth and formed from a mould of the interiors of their teeth. This means that the retainer only fits the patient it is made for, and it fits so snugly over their teeth that, when it is worn, it becomes practically invisible. This may explain the procedure’s popularity within the demographics of teenagers and young adults, as it uniquely affords them the ability to undergo essential dental realignment, without attracting any unwanted attention from peers or colleagues. Another benefit to this method of dental realignment which separates it from conventional orthodontics, is the removable nature of the treatment. Unlike conventional orthodontics, such as fused braces, the Invisalign retainer is entirely removable, which affords users the ability to tailor when they carry out treatment, such as opting to only wear the retainer when at home or asleep.
