Keep your dignity with invisible teeth straightening

If you work in a public-facing job or in a position of authority, you may want to get your teeth straightened. It may even make you feel more comfortable in your role if you have straighter teeth. The conundrum is how to get those lovely straight teeth and keep your dignity in the process. After all, braces carry a certain association of awkward adolescence and being the nerdy kid at the back of the class. Not such a good look if, in fact, you are the teacher standing at the front of the class.

There is a way round this problem in SW14. Invisalign from us at Sheen Dental is a teeth straightening system that doesn’t use brackets and wires cemented to the front of your teeth. Instead, Invisalign in SW14 relies on very thin transparent mouth guard-style aligner trays that snap on over your teeth.

How Invisalign works

These Invisalign aligners work by applying carefully placed pressure on to the teeth that need moving. When you use Invisalign, you will receive a series of these aligners. They are 3D-printed using precise measurements taken from digital scans of your mouth.

The first aligner almost fits how your teeth are now, but the pressure points built into it nudge your teeth a tiny way along the route to alignment. After about a week to 10 days, the pressure will have worn off and it will be time to move on to the next aligner in the series.

How many aligners you receive depends on your alignment issues, but on average, treatment takes about a year to complete. You will then have to wear a retainer for some time to keep the teeth in place until they settle.

Invisible and removable

The other great thing about Invisalign is that the aligners have to be removed for eating and drinking anything other than plain water. This makes cleaning your teeth way quicker than having to poke around under brackets and wires.
