Is it magic or is it Invisalign?

Wouldn’t it be great if you could just wave a magic wand line up those wonky teeth of yours into neat rows like Nature intended? You wouldn’t have to go through months and months of aching teeth and sore insides to your cheeks. You wouldn’t have to fend off embarrassing questions and stares as you go about your daily life as an adult. You wouldn’t have to forego your favourite sticky, crunchy foods.

Well, unless you’re Harry or Hermione that isn’t going to be possible. But at Sheen Dental, we do have the next best thing to magic in Richmond: Invisalign.

Invisalign in Richmond

What is Invisalign all about?

Invisalign is like an invisibility cloak for your teeth. Instead of the usual bracket and wire systems for straightening teeth, Invisalign in Richmond uses clear plastic aligners that look like super-thin mouth guards. They snap on over your teeth and once they are in place, the only way anyone else is going to spot them is if they are staring very hard into your mouth. Likely, the only people doing that will be you, your loved ones and us, your dentist in Richmond. Invisalign will be magically straightening your teeth as far as anyone else is concerned.

Not only are these aligners almost impossible to spot, they come out. This means that you can carry on eating all your favourite foods without worrying about getting bits stuck in your braces. All you have to do is make sure you clean your teeth before you put your aligner back in. That, and you need to be disciplined about wearing it for at least 20 hours a day in order to stick to the treatment schedule.

And that’s where a bit more magic might happen. Many people find that Invisalign treatment cuts out mindless snacking and coffee drinking in the office and they actually lose weight without even trying while they are using Invisalign.

Treatment takes a year, on average, and you will need to wear a retainer for some time afterwards.

If you’d like to find out if Invisalign is the right treatment for you, why not come in for a consultation?
